You can contact medical clinics or Family Medicine Groups (FMG) near you to see if they are accepting new patients.

When you visit a clinic offering walk-in medical services, don't hesitate to ask the doctor you meet if they are accepting new patients, or know another clinic that is.

Also, check with your friends and family to see if their doctor is accepting new patients.

Until you find a family doctor, always try to go to the same clinic when you need to see a doctor. By doing so, your medical file will remain in one place, and make it easier for a doctor to treat you.

You can also put your name on a waiting list called the Québec Family Doctor Finder (QFDF). It is impossible to predict exactly how long you will be on the waiting list. The delay may vary depending on the availability of physicians and number of registrations in your area.
